Nakeina S. Cane is a former Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, with over 9 years of experience.  Nakeina is an experienced trial attorney and has skillfully litigated cases during both court trials and trial by jury.   Nakeina has a passion for helping others and problem solving.  She is a diligent litigator and committed to the profession.  

Nakeina received her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville in 2006.  During her academic career, Nakeina was awarded the honors of Governor's Scholar, Woodford Porter Sr. Achiever Trustee Scholar and Kentucky Legal Education Opportunity (KLEO) Graduate.  Nakeina earned her law degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2010.  After graduating law school, Nakeina worked in the private sector before being admitted to practice law in 2011.   

Nakeina is an Adjunct Instructor at Indiana Wesleyan University, where she teaches in the areas of Legal Studies and Criminal Justice.   Nakeina is a passionate advocate for the youth and has previously served on the Board of Directors for Reach for Youth, Inc. and Lutherwood Child and Family Services. Throughout her career, Nakeina has displayed a love for the community and a heart for problem solving.   Nakeina is an active participant in the local legal community and member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, National Bar Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  

In 2021 Nakeina was featured in "Making Their Mark" cover story for Indiana SuperLawyers' Magazine.  She was also honored to be selected as a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association's Bar Leader Series Class XVIII.
